Safety, Crisis and Scope of Service

LynnMatch helps people find and request introductions to independent counsellors and therapists. It is not an emergency, crisis, medical, diagnostic or therapy service.

What LynnMatch does

  • Helps users find and request introductions to independent counsellors and therapists.
  • Helps reduce overwhelm when choosing a counsellor or therapist.
  • Helps counsellors and therapists receive potentially better-fit introduction requests.

What LynnMatch does not do

  • Does not provide counselling or therapy.
  • Does not diagnose.
  • Does not provide medical advice.
  • Does not provide emergency support.
  • Does not provide crisis care.
  • Does not replace professional judgement by counsellors or therapists.
  • Does not guarantee a particular outcome.

If you need urgent help

If you are in immediate danger or feel unable to keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E.

  • Samaritans: call 116 123
  • NHS 111: for urgent medical advice when it is not a life-threatening emergency
  • 999: for immediate danger or emergency

Professional responsibility

Counsellors and therapists remain responsible for their own professional conduct, suitability decisions, client work, fees, boundaries and ethical responsibilities. LynnMatch helps with matching and introductions, but it does not manage or replace the counselling relationship.
