LynnMatch helps people find counsellors and therapists through a guided matching process. We collect only the information needed to run the service, match clients with relevant professionals, manage practitioner accounts, process introduction requests, operate billing, and keep the network safe.
Who we are
LynnMatch is a guided matching and introduction service for counsellors and therapists. For privacy questions, contact support@lynnmatch.co.uk.
1. Information we collect
- Client intake answers such as support needs, preferred format, location, budget, availability, and preferences.
- Client contact details such as first name, email, phone if provided, and optional notes.
- Counsellor and therapist profile information, including specific professional title (such as Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT), credentials, registration details, insurance confirmation, session fees, availability, location, profile content, and payment setup status.
- Platform activity such as submitted requests, accepted introduction requests, billing events, support requests, no-show reports, audit logs, and account status changes.
2. How we use information
- To provide matching results.
- To send a copy of matches where requested.
- To create introduction requests.
- To let counsellors and therapists review and respond to introduction requests.
- To manage verification, approval, suspension, rejection, resubmission, billing, credits, no-show reports, support, and audit logs.
- To improve safety, trust, and service quality.
3. Lawful basis
LynnMatch processes personal information where needed to provide the service, manage accounts, process introduction requests, operate billing, protect safety, improve trust and service quality, and meet legal and accounting obligations. Where required, we rely on your explicit consent to process sensitive information you choose to provide through the intake process.
4. Sensitive information
Some information you choose to provide may relate to mental health, wellbeing, relationships, identity, personal circumstances, or other sensitive matters. We use this information only to support matching, service delivery, safety, record keeping, and operational purposes. LynnMatch and Lynn do not provide therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or clinical advice. Any counselling, therapy, or related support is provided directly by the counsellor or therapist, not bythe platform.
Where required, we rely on your explicit consent to process sensitive information you choose to provide through the intake process.
5. Who we share information with
- Matched counsellors and therapists receive limited preview information first.
- Full client contact details are only shown to a counsellor or therapist after they accept and unlock the introduction.
- Payment details are handled by our payment provider. LynnMatch does not store full card details.
- Service providers may support hosting, payments, email, analytics, security, and operations.
- We may disclose information where required by law or to protect safety.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, legal, accounting, safety, dispute handling, audit, and operational purposes. Specific retention periods may vary depending on the type of record.
7. Your choices and rights
You may contact support@lynnmatch.co.uk to ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal, billing, audit, safety, or dispute reasons.
If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
