Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 May 2026

By using LynnMatch, you agree to use the service responsibly and understand that it is a guided matching and introduction platform for counsellors and therapists.

1. What the service does

  • Provides guided matching to counsellors and therapists.
  • Provides a guided shortlist rather than a public search directory.
  • Shows up to three matches based on the information provided.
  • Allows clients to request an introduction to a counsellor or therapist.
  • Allows counsellors and therapists to review and accept or decline introduction requests.

2. What the service does not do

  • LynnMatch and Lynn do not provide therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, legal advice, emergency support, or crisis care. Any counselling, therapy, or related support is provided directly by the counsellor or therapist, not bythe platform.
  • Does not guarantee that a counsellor or therapist will accept a request.
  • Does not guarantee availability, suitability, outcomes, insurance eligibility, or therapeutic results.
  • LynnMatch does not guarantee that any suggested counsellor or therapist is suitable for a particular client. Clients should use their own judgment and speak directly with thembefore starting work together.

3. Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Contact emergency/crisis services if at immediate risk.
  • Decide whether to contact or work with a professional.
  • Understand that any therapeutic relationship is between the client and the counsellor or therapist.

4. Counsellor and therapist responsibilities

  • Counsellors and therapists are responsible for ensuring their profile, professional title (such as Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT), qualifications, registrations, insurance, fees, availability, and professional claims are accurate and up to date.
  • Keep information up to date.
  • Only accept requests they believe they are appropriately qualified, insured, and available to handle.
  • Follow relevant professional, ethical, legal, safeguarding, privacy, and insurance obligations.
  • Understand that profiles may be reviewed, rejected, suspended, or removed.

5. Fees and billing

  • Joining is free.
  • Receiving and previewing introduction requests is free.
  • A £20 introduction fee is added to pending charges only when a counsellor or therapist accepts and unlocks a client introduction.
  • Charges are collected later through the standard billing process.
  • If an accepted introduction does not proceed, the therapist may submit a no-show / non-proceeding report for review. Credits are not automatic and are reviewed by the team.
  • Where LynnMatch grants founding credit, that credit is applied automatically against accepted-introduction fees until used. Founding credit is a non-refundable network credit, has no cash value, is not transferable, and is not payable out.
  • LynnMatch may place billing or visibility restrictions on therapist accounts where payment fails, billing details are missing, or account issues require review.

6. Matching and ranking

  • Matching is based on client fit, including specialism, format, location, budget, availability, preferences, and profile relevance.
  • LynnMatch does not sell paid ranking, boosted placement, or higher visibility in matching results.

7. Account actions

  • The platform may approve, reject, suspend, reinstate, or remove profiles to protect trust, quality, safety, or compliance.
  • Admin actions may be recorded in audit logs.

8. Limitation

The service is provided as a guided matching and introduction platform for counsellors and therapists. We aim to keep information accurate and useful, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect matching, professional availability, or client outcomes.

9. Changes

Terms may be updated as the service develops.
